I’ve always had a great deal of respect for larger animals. Elephants, although massive and able to cause destruction, have a vast tenderness in their eyes.

The way they hold space for each other is spellbinding. I am fascinated by how they know, recognise, and care for each other.

This piece is mixed-media from 2006. It captures the gentleness in knowing one’s strength. That strength is more than just size. Intelligence is more than memorising knowledge.

Wisdom listens. The elephant is a perfect example of wild wisdom. Incredibly powerful, yet ultimately gentle, in listening.

This image encompasses that tender power. That knowing and meeting regardless of size, shape, or form.
