Curiosity. An itch you can’t help scratch. All senses are alive.
Rabbits have to be incredibly aware of everything around them. When we consider our senses, many people don’t have great self-awareness. Without that vast sensory scope, rabbits would get eaten fast.
When I drew this image, I saw many rabbits in the glade, very curiously going through pots, sheds, and anything they could get a whiff of food from.
I had to be super stealthy. These beautiful, wily creatures instantly picked up on any small movement.
In this biro pen drawing from 2006, I worked to communicate the curious nature contained in sensing everything. Rabbits display that very well.
This image captures that freshness, tenderness, and curiosity.
